Vidit Aatrey, who is the Founder and CEO of the brand Meesho, is an alumnus of IIT Delhi. He was born in the year 1991. He worked at ITC Ltd as a supply chain manager for two years and at InMobi as a senior associate in global strategy and operations.

Sanjeev Barnwal – Founder and CTO of Meesho

Sanjeev Barnwal, who is the Co-Founder and CTO of Meesho, is an alumnus of IIT Delhi. He has worked with Sony in Japan as a part of the core tech team which developed the company’s digital single-lens reflex camera and cyber-shot cameras. He, even today is passionate about technology in Meesho.
He got his bachelor of technology degree in electrical engineering in the year 2012. He has received Forbes 30 under 30 award in Asia and India.

Funding for Meesho

Meesho raised $1,80,000 in an angel round from their lead investors namely venture highway, invested and Rajul Garg, and a few other participants.
Meesho secured $3.4 million in a series A round which is led by SAIF Partners.
Meesho raised $ 11.5 million in a series B round in June 2018 which was led by sequoia capital India.
Meesho raised $25 million from Facebook in June 2019.

Recent News – Meesho

Recently Meesho announced an 11-day company-wide break from 22nd October to 01st November looking at the current scenario of burnout and Anxiety issues among employees of the company. This is called as ‘Reset and Recharge’ and this initiative would allow employees to maintain their mental health which is of utmost importance. This move is the continued action by Meesho to create a People-Centric environment.

Meesho who is competing with Amazon and Flipkart has announced a Sale on 23rd September and they are expecting 80% of their sale to come from Bharat or Rural India.  ‘Mega Blockbuster Sale’ by Meesho would be a great opportunity as it would help Meesho in the mission of democratizing internet commerce. Before launching Meesho, the co-founders of Meesho, vidit Aatrey, and Sanjeev Barnwal, founded the hyperlocal and on-demand fashion marketplace, which was called Swiggy for fashion’ but the startup failed and from this failure, they got an insight into how Resellers wish to sell the Items but Social Media platforms do not have Payment Options and through this, they started the brand, Meesho.
