India has been instrumental in aiding Kazakhstan’s peacekeeping activities. The country, which is the largest in Central Asia, is involved in UN peacekeeping missions, aiming to prevent armed conflicts around the world. Since 2002, the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers is celebrated worldwide on May 29th to recognize the contributions of peacekeepers serving under the UN flag.

India has been assisting Kazakhstan’s peacekeeping efforts since 2018. The Central Asian country had expressed its interest in deploying peacekeeping troops to UN missions. Kazakhstan also wanted to improve its peacekeeping capabilities to meet international standards. India, which has been contributing to UN peacekeeping efforts since 1950, offered to help.

The Indian government invited Kazakhstani peacekeeping officials to participate in training programs in India. The programs were held at the Center for United Nations Peacekeeping (CUNPK) in New Delhi. Indian experts trained Kazakhstani soldiers on various aspects of peacekeeping, including handling of weapons, medical support, and operational planning.

In addition to the training programs, India has provided Kazakhstan with equipment and logistical support. India’s contribution includes bulletproof jackets, helmets, and medical kits. India has also assisted Kazakhstan in deploying its troops to UN peacekeeping missions.

India has played a crucial role in enhancing Kazakhstan’s peacekeeping capabilities. Kazakhstan has already deployed its peacekeeping troops to Lebanon, Sudan, and Western Sahara. The country is planning to deploy troops to other UN peacekeeping missions in the future.

In conclusion, India’s assistance has been pivotal in enabling Kazakhstan to improve its peacekeeping capabilities. Through training programs, equipment and logistical support, India has played a vital role in helping Kazakhstan deploy its troops to UN peacekeeping missions. The partnership between India and Kazakhstan highlights the importance of cooperation among nations in promoting peace and stability worldwide.
